Court Leaves in Jail Meta, Measures for the Others

The court decided to leave in jail the former President, Ilir Meta over corruption charges. 

During Wednesday's session, he accused the prosecutor Altin Dumani as being used by the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, in order to politically destroy him.

Sources confirmed for albaniandailynews.com that Dumani was calm as Meta accused him.

At the end of the session, Court left in jail Meta, while forced the MP, Monika Kryemadhi and Ema Coku should appear once a month in front of the judicial officers.

The leader of the opposition Freedom Party, was arrested on Monday in his car when entering the capital, Tirana.

Details of the investigation, which started in January last year, had already been made public, as well as the fact that he had been questioned by the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organised Crime, SPAK.

According to SPAK, Meta was arrested on charges of corruption, money-laundering and non-declaration of assets.
