Deal with Israel on Technology and Innovation
Albania has signed an agreement with Israel on Technology and Innovation. The agreement between the company 'TEDA Tirana', the Municipality of Tirana, and the Israeli company "HAPI Advanced Technologies LTD", foresees the creation of a Data Center that will operate within the TEDA Tirana area.
Present at the agreement signing ceremony, Prime Minister Rama said that this strategic investment of millions of euros will enable the creation of the largest digital base in the region.
“This investment will create extraordinary opportunities for all the girls and boys of this country, whether those who live here or those who work abroad, a very well-paid job here in Tirana," said Rama.
According to the head of government, this agreement is also signed within the framework of Albania's priorities in the EU membership process. Rama stressed that the integration process is rushing, not only thanks to the country's reforms but also because of the EU's interest in enlargement.
"We live in a time of epochal overcoming in general. This is a historic moment for Albania in every sense of the word. A window of opportunity has opened that does not come twice to become part of the EU, taking advantage of an extremely short time. The speed of the process with which we are progressing in this framework is the highest ever compared to all countries, but not because we are doing the task very well, which is not in dispute, but because the European Union is very interested in the speed of the process."
He warned that this is an opportunity that should not be missed, as a delay could bring the process back to zero.
"It is a historic moment of matching our internal circumstances with the current circumstances of the EU. They are just as eager as we are for this process to be closed and for Albania to become a member of the EU and we have the obligation not to miss this opportunity, and not to waste a single day because if we do not achieve this epochal breakthrough in this time frame, the window can close. Very simple! The window can close and history can start all over again, as we have seen it develop when this alignment of interests was not there and when, despite us doing our duty, a country there or another country came out and said: no. Despite the EC recommending the opening of negotiations with Albania, Albania was blocked by a veto here by a veto there."
