Friends, Colleagues Pay Tribute to Kosta Grillo Who Died of Covid

Relatives, family members, friends and colleagues gave the last goodbye to the well-known sports commentator and journalist Kosta Grillo, who passed away on Tuesday morning, due to Covid-19 complications. 

Grillo died in Turkey where he was from more than a month for specialized treatment for Covid-19. 

Homages were held in "Selman Stërmasi" Stadium. It was attended by the President of the Albanian Football Association (AFA), Armand Duka and the Secretary-General, Ilir Shulku as well as journalists and well-known figures of the sports world. 

In a statement to the media, President Duka expressed his condolences to the family of Kosta Grillo, for the loss of their loved ones as well as to all friends and the football community, considering today as a day of mourning. 

"It's a day of mourning for all of us, for the football community, for the sports media, for all those who have known Kosta Grillo, one of the figures of journalism, up close or from the screen but still involved more than the dimension of a journalist or commentator in the world of football, in relations with the whole of football. 

During this period we lost many of our people, unfortunately, although all his friends tried to keep Kosta alive, but it was impossible. He fought hard against this virus that has plagued the world, but he did not succeed. Today on this day of mourning, I express my condolences to my colleagues, the sports community and more to the family who lost their beloved. May his memory be eternal ", said President Duka.
