Semon Zerezi was appointed as the new General Director of the Republican Guard.

His appointment was made by the Interior Minister, after the resignation of the former director Ermal Onuzi.

Zerezi was the vice general director and since 2013, he was the Commandant of the Special Unit in the Guard.

He had a long experience in the Republican Guard.
