DP Casts Doubts over Online Services' Attack

The member of the Headship of the Democratic Party, Arben Ristani, has cast doubts on the cyber attack that was made on the e-albania system and government services.

In a statement to the media, he said that a leak of personal data from government databases could be hidden after this. For this occasion, Ristani brings to attention the issue of patronageists and the publication of citizens' salaries.

According to him, this is a known precedent, while the latest cyber attack can be used as an alibi in the future.

Ristani also raised a question about the American company with which the Albanian state signed a contract in January of this year, for the management of cyber security.

"The government announced today a cyber attack against government systems and the e-albania website. With the language of a Hollywood script, with hackers and international enemies, it seems that the government is trying to hide more than to reveal. Hacking becomes more unbelievable if we remember the almost criminal records of the government when it comes to citizens' privacy.

The Democratic Party brings back to attention the case of the patronageists, who had in their hands data of Albanian citizens, secured through the same system, which today they say has been hacked. In a second unprecedented case, employees of the same administration extracted sensitive data of citizens, from salaries, personal data and so on.

A government with such a record in handling the data bank of its citizens seems incredulous to say that it has fallen prey to its own methods. When others treat it the way it treats its own citizens, for Albanians this is not news, but the incompetence of the government.

The Democratic Party, recognizing the 'instruments of evil' that Rama uses, warns the public that, after the hacking news, other database leaks and sensitive public data may be hidden. When this happens, the Chief of General Staff of the Patronageists will blame it on hacking by 'unknown forces'," Ristani said.
