The Director of the Department for Public Order and Security, Senior Executive Rebani Jaupi, has published the measures for the smooth running of order and security, during the EU Summit, on 06.12.2022, in Tirana. It is learned that 'Dëshmorët e Kombit' Boulevard, the square where the opposition wants to protest on that day, will be blocked. Several other streets of the capital will be blocked.

"The development of the European Union Summit, in Tirana, on December 6, marks a very important event for Albania's European perspective. The movement of the citizens of Tirana, on December 6, will be directly impacted by this activity of international proportions.

In this context, the State Police has drawn up a detailed plan of measures to guarantee public order before, during and after the European Union Summit - For the Western Balkans, which will take place in Tirana on December 6, 2022," said Jaupi.

-Measures:

To guarantee security before, during and after the Summit, the following security perimeter has been provided: 

"Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from the Dajti bridge to "Mother Teresa" Square; 

"Bajram Curri" boulevard from the intersection with "Elbasani" street to the intersection with "Ibrahim Rugova" street; 

"Pope John Paul II" street from ETC-RTSH-Stadium; 

"Dervish Hima" street; 

"Asim Zeneli" street; 

"Themistokli Gërmenji" street, near Elbasan street and the intersection near "Papa John Paul II" street; 

"Ismail Qemali" street, from the Liceu intersection to "Elbasan" street. 

"Mustafa Matohiti" street, near "Kosova" school; 

"Jul Variboba" street, near the post office, on Elbasani street and "Papa John Paul II" street; 

"Fatmir Haxhiu" street, ETC; 

"Lekë Dukagjini" street, from "Shopen" square, to "Air Albania" stadium and around the stadium; 

"Skerdilajd Llagami" street and "Faik Konica" street. 

Parking, traffic of vehicles and citizens will be prohibited on these road axes, while only the movement of citizens who are residents will be allowed within the security perimeter. 

It is emphasized that the above restrictions constitute the security perimeter of the Summit and for this we ask for the understanding of the citizens, to respect the requirements and legal procedures, regulated by the State Police. 

There will also be a ban on the traffic of vehicles on the road axis; 

Rinas - Kashari Overpass - "Durrës - Tirana" Highway - Former "Shqiponja" Square - Tirana Ring Road - Sauk Roundabout - Roundabout near the Police Academy - Brigade Palace - "Student" City Roundabout until the intersection with the boulevard " Bajram Curri". 

There will be restrictions on the circulation of heavy tonnage vehicles on the road axis "Shkodër - Lezhë - Milot - Thumanë - Fushë Krujë - Vorë".
