Facebook and Instagram Suffer Widespread Outage, Users Report Access Issues Worldwide
Facebook and Instagram, two of Meta's largest social media platforms, experienced a widespread outage on Sunday, leaving users in multiple countries unable to access key services.
Thousands of users reported problems logging into their accounts, loading content, and using core features across both platforms. Many Facebook users were met with an error message stating: "Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."
The disruption appears to have affected users globally, with reports of service interruptions rapidly spreading across social media and outage-tracking platforms.
There were also reports of issues affecting WhatsApp, another platform owned by Meta, although the extent of those disruptions remained unclear.
As of now, Meta has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage or provided an estimated timeline for the full restoration of its services.
