Famous Greek composer Mihal ‘Mikis’ Theodorakis has passed away this Thursday at the age of 96. 

Greek art today is in mourning for one of its most important figures. Theodorakis has composed the music of all kinds from operas, symphonies, ballets, oratorios and church choirs to theater, cinema, folk songs, etc. 

He has left behind as a legacy over 1.000 works, while some time ago he was politically engaged with the Communist Party of Greece, as well as with the right-wing party "New Democracy", being elected 4 times as a member of parliament.
