Owner of Fruit Import Company Left in Jail on Drugs Charges
Special Court of Appeals Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has confirmed Thursday the measure of "prison arrest" on the administrator of the company "Alba Exotic Fruits", Eduart Dauti.
With this decision, the Special Appeal rejected Daut's request for a more lenient security measure, deciding that he should stay behind the cell at least until the end of the investigation.
However, the administrator of "Alba Exotic Fruits" was arrested about a month ago on charges of drug trafficking within the structured criminal group.
His arrest came after quantities of cocaine were found in six different cases in containers of bananas coming from Latin America to the Port of Durres ordered by the company "Alba Exotic Fruit".
On his part, the 51-year-old has denied the charges in front of the court, demanding even milder security measures, but the black platoon rejected his request, leaving him behind bars.
