Former judge, Gjin Gjoni was announced as the chair of the Democratic Party in Lezha.

Gjoni was voted with 604 votes, while his opponent Albert Rrustini, took 312 votes and Paulin Marku 131.

This is not the first tentative of Gjoni to be part of the politics. On 2020 he was presented as the candidate of DP to run for Member of Parliament. But Lulzim Basha that time, disqualified him saying that he was a former judge or prosecutor that resigned due to vetting process.

Gjoni is one of the most talked-about justice figures in the country for his wealth, which did justified and that resigned to escape vetting process.
