Greece Jolted by Powerful Earthquake

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred this Friday morning in Evia, which was also felt in Attica, revealed the Geodynamic Institute.

Epicenter of the earthquake was 6 kilometers east of Prokopio Evia and the focal depth at 14.2 kilometers.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, the earthquake is rated at 5.3 on the Richter scale.

Seven minutes later, a 3.7 Richter earthquake with a focal depth of 5 km occurred from the same epicenter. which was also felt in areas of Attica.

"The earthquake happened in a mountainous area, it does not cause concern", told seismologist Kostas Papazachos the Greek media.
