Greece Extends Self-Quarantine for Travelers Coming from Albania

Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs informed Wednesday that based on the latest epidemiological data, the Greek government has decided to extend the restrictive measures with Albania until November 30.

Also, all travelers will need to complete and submit their PLF form and may undergo random testing upon arrival at the Greek border. After crossing to the neighboring country, travelers will have to self-isolate for 7 days.

A statement issued to the media said that until November 30, all persons traveling to Greece will be required to have a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19, performed up to 72 hours before the entry of their in Greece.

As the Ministry declared, the test certificates must be written in English and bear the name and passport / national identity number of the traveler. Whereas, for children under 10 years old this test will not be mandatory.

The increase in cases of COVID-19 forced the authorities in Greece to restore total isolation in the country. A few days ago, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that starting from last Saturday until November 30, the country is entering national isolation.

Only grocery stores and pharmacies will be allowed to stay open. Primary schools and kindergartens will continue to remain open while secondary schools will be closed.
