Greek Minister Reveals Letter against Turkey from Tirana

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias declared Tuesday during a conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama that he has addressed a letter to the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Oliver Varhelyi regarding the conflict with Turkey.

Minister Dendias admitted that he has asked the Commissioner Varhelyi to immediately review Turkey's actions in all dimensions, even about the withdrawal of the customs union.

"I am sorry that our neighbor Turkey continues to break the basic criteria of EU integration every day. I was forced to send a letter to Commissioner Varhelyi, telling him that Turkey is breaking the customs union and that taking of measures about this must be reviewed immediately.

I regretfully asked the commission to examine all the violations in all their dimensions, even until the withdrawal of the customs union. I have also stressed the recent actions that are extremely concerning in the Mediterranean.

Military materials must be banned, as they are used for actions that destabilize our area. What we need to build together, our common focus is to have a peaceful future all together. My presence here today serves to this future", has said Dendias.
