Health Minister: Fire at Emergency Was Technical Issue, Didn't Affected the Hospital

Health Minister, Albana Koçiu, reported this Monday at the Parliamentary Committee on Health over the fire that erupted in the Emergency Unit last February.

According to her, the fire was caused due to a technical problem, and it doesn't had consequences in the hospital.

Mentioning that the case is under investigation by Tirana Prosecution Office, Koçiu added that in this hospital are offered all the services, despite the cardiac issues.

"I want to answer to all those false accusations. QSUT is the true face of the transformation of this hospital in Albania, such as the internal medicine hospital.  The incident that we were called here today, showed that the standards and professionalism is the same as in the whole country. All hospitals are specialized to provide the services. Until a few years ago such a thing would have been unimaginable if such an incident would happen.

There is reason to feel good and proud of the medical staff. As for the incident at the emergency unit, it is an event that, as you well know, is under investigation by the Tirana prosecutor's office. From the preliminary data, I can confirm that it is a technical fault, where there was a fault, without any impact on the hospital. Work is offered there. The only service that has moved is cardiac emergency,” she said.
