High Court Postpones Decision to Examine Aldo Bare's Case

The High Court has postponed the examination of the case against former Lushnja gang leader, Aldo Bare. The decision has come after judges Sandër Simoni and Sokol Binaj have given up on examining the case of Bare.

On September 17, the High Court decided to review the criminal file against Aldo Bare. The former leader of the notorious Lushnja gang has been serving a life sentence in the high-security prison in Peqin for years. He has appealed the decision and wants to escape the maximum punishment against him.

In 2017, the Constitutional Court decided to overturn the decision of the High Court for Aldo Bare and return the case for a retrial, after finding serious procedural violations and concluding that the defendant was not guaranteed a due process of law.

Since the High Court was out of order for several years, after being left without a judge, the file remained in the drawers.

Aldo Bare is one of the most well-known names in crime and has been convicted for serious crimes committed as part of the gang he created and led for years, terrorizing Lushnja.
