Latest INSTAT data on average salaries shows that those who are working in a managerial, administrative or commercial position, have the opportunity to receive more income.

Recently, information technology (IT) professionals are becoming among the highest-paid professions in the country.

The average monthly salary in Albania in 2019 was ALL 52.400, according to INSTAT, with an increase of 3.5% compared to last year.

In Albania lead management positions are among the most rewarding ones, having salaries three times higher than the national average.

According to INSTAT, administrative and commercial executives have an average gross salary of ALL 154.000 per month.

Compared to a year ago, their salary has increased by about 10% and in absolute value they have benefited the largest increase in income from all other professions.

In second place are again the leaders, but those of production and specialized services, receiving ALL 114.000 per month. This group also marked a salary increase of 9%.

Information and communication technology specialists have ranked for the first time to third place, with a monthly salary of ALL 92.000. The rapid development of technology and the need for businesses to adapt and be competitive is making IT professionals more and more in demand.

Working in the state administration offices no longer pays much, even if you are a manager. The average salary for Legislators, senior state administration officials and executive directors was 87.6.000 ALL in 2019, with a decrease of about 3% compared to the previous year, descending from third place where it was in 2018. While office workers are paid an average of 49.400 ALL.

Professionals in physics, mathematics and engineering have experienced a decrease in the average salary by about 1.2% receiving ALL 84.700.

Administration and business specialists have a gross monthly income of about 83.000 ALL, although in 2019, there was no increase for them. Teachers are paid an average of 63.400 ALL, with an increase of 3.3% on an annual basis.

Less paid is the profession of the doctor. Occupation group "Health Specialists" has an average gross monthly salary of 60.000 ALL, with an increase of 2.8% on an annual basis.

Other professions, which are generally jobs that do not require many qualifications, such as construction, sales, agriculture, domestic workers, industry, get paid between 30.000-40.000 ALL per month.

The lowest paid are "Employees of food processing, wood, textiles and similar ones", receiving ALL 30.000 per month.
