Houses, Olive Groves Endangered by Fire in Vlora's Narta Village

A large-scale fire has endangered olive groves and houses at the entrance to the village of Narta this Saturday. 

Five vehicles and 30 firefighters are on the ground to isolate and extinguish the fires, but the blowing wind affects the flames, which lead them towards olive groves and houses. 

Firefighter Luan Kapaj told about the situation aggravated by the fire, underlining that the situation is quite difficult because the bushes and difficult terrain make enable the fire to spread quickly. 

"The wind that is blowing in the direction of the east helps to spread the fire in this position that we are in. There are 30 fire brigades to have the situation under control, but it is very difficult because the wind spreads quickly", said Kapaj. 

Albania resumet fighting the fires two days ago, after the first outbreaks were noted in Vlorë and Fier. 

Specifically, in the hearth in the hills between the villages of Radhimë and Tragjas, two cars and ten firefighters were on the ground to put out the flames along the Radhimë area. 

The flames, aided by the wind, are burning mainly bushes, but endangering the farms and vineyards located along the bay pass above the village of Radhimë. 

Meanwhile, in Peshtan area of Fier, 25 firefighters of the department were engaged to put out the flames.
