Greek media have published images of the powerful explosion that shook Athens on Wednesday morning. 

The powerful explosion on Avenue Syggrou 3 occurred shortly after 06:00 and signaled the alarm in the area, but also created a "war" scene. Investigations into the cause of the explosion have already begun, while from the initial reports it seems that it is a gas leak. 

As a result of the explosion, a 78-year-old man was injured, who was immediately taken to hospital where he is under doctors' care. The elderly have injuries to the upper and lower limbs.
