Italian Media Condemn Roma, Feyenoord Fans’ Violence in Tirana

Italian media have devoted Wednesday morning to some news of chaos and clashes in the streets of Tirana, while "La repubblica" has written about the collision that took place in the 9-storey area in Tirana where a 45-year-old Albanian was injured after a fight between ultras Dutchman, for whom 9 Feynoord fans are being investigated. 

Italian media, writes this would be just the first spark of what would come next. Episodes of violence spread throughout the city while fans have not yet calmed down by launching batons in their hands towards the stadium. 

For its part, the Police has confirmed that there have been three incidents, in two of which the situation has escalated into physical violence, stoning between law enforcement officers and Dutch fans. 

Other incidents have been recorded in different areas of Tirana. La repubblica writes that on Mustafa Matohiti Street below the house of Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, about 200 Dutch hooligans clashed with police, shooting at them with sticks and stones. 

Another incident, writes the Italian media, happened in front of the Tirana Police Directorate while a police vehicle was destroyed by fans. 

Regarding the incident in the 9-storey area, Italian media cite the testimony given by the 45-year-old injured man in front of the police. He stated that he asked those Dutch fans why they pushed him and they started shooting with chairs. 

While the owner of the bar where the event took place said that everything started after the person who was shot by the fans started to provoke the crowd by shouting "Roma, Roma". 

"Despite our attempt to extinguish the bloodshed between the three Albanians, a quarrel has arisen with the Dutch fans. Meanwhile, it was not the Dutchman who shot the Albanian in the head with a chair. "But his Albanian friend who made a mistake." 

Meanwhile, Tirana Police announced through a statement that the number of Roma and Feyenoord fans has stopped after the incidents that occurred on Tuesday in different areas of the Albanian capital, where the final of the Conference League planned for the evening of today, has gone to 60 after clashing with local law enforcement forces. 

Of these persons escorted to the police stations, 48 ??are of Italian nationality and 12 Dutch. And also 12 is the latest update on the number of injured cops, while there are already three injured Roma fans.
