Italy provided assistance to Albania by deploying two Canadair firefighting aircraft to help combat forest fires in the region, specifically in the Municipality of Finiq. This deployment, was carried out through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

Same happened earlier this year with Greece.

The deployment of the Canadair aircraft was in response to a request from the Albanian government, activated through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Canadair CL-415 is a specialized firefighting aircraft known as a "Super Scooper".

From nearly a month, Albania is suffering from fires in many areas and hot weather made impossible to manage all the open fireplaces.
