Kassavetia Prisons: Two Dangerous Albanian Prisoners Escaped

Authorities were alarmed by the escape of two Albanian prisoners from the Kassavetia Rural Prison on Thursday night.

The two prisoners, both 41 years old, had been sentenced to 20 years in prison for serious crimes, such as homicide, robbery and arson. However, since 2019 they had been held in the Rural Prison, in an unfenced area, due to good behavior. Their room was only checked a few times a day by staff.

The escapees had received five days of leave in 2024. They took advantage of their return from their last leave a few days ago to plan and execute their escape.

Her disappearance, which was discovered at 9:00 PM on Thursday, prompted the immediate mobilization of the police , as the two escapees are considered dangerous due to their extensive criminal record, while investigations to locate them are ongoing.

At the same time, there are questions about the security measures at the prison.
