A conflict occurred this Thursday in Kuçova, between the inhabitants of the village of Lumas who demand the preservation of the source of Sinec and the inhabitants of the villages of Vodë and Krekëz who are in favor of the construction of the Water Supply.

It is learned that the quarrel has escalated to physical clashes between residents of some villages. Residents of Lumas say they are not against the construction of the water supply system, but it should not be built at their source.

Meanwhile, residents of other villages claim that they do not have water, seeing the water supply as a solution to their problems.

The Municipality of Kuçova has previously stated that the construction of the water supply system will not affect the final closure of the Sinec source.

We recall that on Monday, the residents of Lumas clashed with the police, after they demanded the suspension of the works for taking water from the source of Sinec, which supplies 7 villages in Kuçova.

The works for the water supply are being carried out by the company Salillari, which won in February the contract of over ALL 354 million for the construction of the water supply.
