Lisander Hoxha Gives Up Claims for DP Chair Shortly Before Elections
Lisandër Hoxha has given up this Saturday from running for the post of Democratic Party Chairman, only a few days before elections are held within DP.
In a Facebook post, he explains the reasons for his decision. Hoxha says that he drafted a platform with 10 points for the return of the Albanian right, but in the end he gave up. According to him, what is happening today in the DP is the continuation of the old way of holding the race hostage through machinations and arrogance.
"Today there is no competition because, on June 13, there will be 20.000 Youth members with no right to vote. Today there is no competition because there are thousands of members deleted as "passive" from the system just for calculation purposes. Today there is no competition because it competes against an Acting Chairman, who controls the entire party administration, the press office and any assets that make the playing field unequal.
Today there is no competition because the result of its completion is statute-barred and there is no possibility that the confrontation will be real, wrote Hoxha.
Until now, Ibsen Elezi, Fatbardh Kadilli and Edith Harxhi are already in the race against Lulzim Basha for becoming the new leader of the Democratic Party. The elections within DP will be held on June 13, 2021.
