Locals Protest Against Quarry in Delvina

Residents of the village of Bajkaj in Delvina are against the opening of a quarry in the area. They protested on Wednesday against it and there was also a physical clash with representatives of the company that will exploit the quarry.

They have also signed a petition requesting that the quarry not be opened in their village.

This Wednesday there was a public hearing between the Ministry of Environment, Delvina Municipality and the quarry firm, but the local people were not announced.

The quarry is planned to open in a former military area of 96.000 square meters.

The protest took place at the site where the quarry is planned to be opened and the residents claim that it will bring destruction of nature and pollution of the environment.
