Mega Op in Durres, Foreigners Arrested for Documents’ Forgery

A large operation was organized by the State Police this Monday in the Port of Durrës, where 4 people were remanded in custody and another was prosecuted.

The detainees are Syrian and Palestinian citizens who are accused of forging German documents and visas in an attempt to cross the Albanian border. Among the criminal actions undertaken was the prosecution of the Syrian citizen with initials R.F, 37 years old.

In the framework of the operation codenamed "Host", the following were arrested: A. H., German citizen, for the criminal offenses "Assistance in illegal border crossing" and "Forgery of identity cards, passports or visas".

Specifically, the other arrested were: A. A., 58 years old, Palestinian citizen, M. H., 33 years old, M. K., 46 years old, Syrian citizen, for the criminal offense "Forgery of identity cards, passports or visas".

These citizens have tried to cross the border using suspected forged German tourist visas, with the help of the citizen A. H., at the Border Crossing Point Port of Durrës, at the exit of the territory of the Republic of Albania.

Meanwhile, the materials were forwarded to the Durrës Judicial District Prosecutor's Office for further action.

“Following the work to prevent and crack down on criminal activity of forging documents and providing assistance for illegal border crossing, as a result of increased measures, the Border Police services in the Port of Durres, in cooperation with the structures of DVP Durres , have organized the work and have successfully finalized 'The Host' operation”, said the police among other things.
