Ndragheta Fugitive Put in Handcuffs
A Ndrangheta fugitive wanted since 2016, 32-year-old Antonio Strangio, was arrested at Bali International Airport in Indonesia.
He was wanted for drug production and trafficking with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method, in the framework of the "Eclipse 2" operation, directed by the Dda of Reggio Calabria and carried out by the investigative department of the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Reggio.
Strangio had fled in 2016 to Australia from where, as a naturalized Australian citizen, he could not be extradited.
His arrest took place on February 2nd at 21:00 local time, but was only announced later on.
Strangio's arrest has come a few hours after the capture in Saint Etienne, France, of Edgardo Greco, who has been on the run for 17 years, known as the "Ndrangheta chef" and sentenced to life imprisonment for double murder.
