Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has reacted for the first time after the news of the death of former President Bujar Nishani. 

In a Facebook post, Berisha writes that Bujar Nishani was a prominent statesman and one of his closest associates. 

"Therefore today is a day of mourning and deep pain for the honorable Nishani family who lose their wonderful and exemplary husband and parent, for his friends and relatives who lose a dear friend that we will always miss, for the Democratic Party that lost one of the most talented leaders, for the Albanian state and nation that today lose the faithful and dedicated servant, the capable and honest statesman, patriot and noble ", noted Berisha.
