The opposition leader Sali Berisha arrived at Parliament on Thursday alongside Democratic Party lawmakers Klevis Balliu and Belind Këlliçi, entering through a side entrance after police sealed off the main entrance due to an ongoing protest outside the legislature.

The demonstration, now in its 54th day, began at 8:30 a.m. local time as protesters gathered around Parliament under heightened security.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival, Berisha called for the dissolution of Parliament, describing it as the only responsible course of action.

"The only responsible act is to declare its end, dissolve itself, and open the way for the solution demanded by Albania's youth and its citizens. Any other action is entirely meaningless. That is why we call today for this Parliament to declare its own dissolution. It is the only right decision Parliament can make," Berisha said.

Thursday's appearance marked the second time members of the Democratic Party's parliamentary group have attended a parliamentary session since ending their boycott, as political tensions continue to unfold both inside and outside the legislature.
