Organizers Call for Nationwide Anti-Government Protest in Tirana on June 27
Anti-government protest organizers in Albania have announced a nationwide demonstration scheduled for June 27 in the capital, calling for mass participation from across the country and the Albanian diaspora.
Speaking at a rally on Wednesday, organizers urged citizens from all cities in Albania, as well as Albanians living abroad, to join what they described as one of the largest civic mobilizations to date.
They said the upcoming protest would mark “a new phase” in the ongoing civic movement and called on supporters to actively encourage wider participation, framing the event as a decisive moment for their cause.
“The mobilization must not be limited to the capital,” one organizer said during remarks to protesters, emphasizing that participation should come from every region of the country.
Organizers also invited all citizens who support their demands to take part, describing the protest as an expression of public dissatisfaction and a direct message to state institutions.
The June 27 rally is expected to be the largest organized so far, with participation anticipated from multiple cities. Organizers stressed that the demonstration should remain peaceful and respect public order.
The announcement comes as protests in Tirana have continued for 26 consecutive days, with demonstrators gathering nightly in the capital demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and opposing government policies. The ongoing demonstrations have included marches through major streets, public speeches, and repeated calls for political change.
Organizers said the protests will continue until their demands are met, describing the June 27 mobilization as a key step toward expanding participation and sustaining pressure on the government.
