SPAK Arrests Ergys Agasi in Durrës, Faces Serious Organized Crime Charges

The Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) announced the arrest of Ergys Agasi, who was detained on August 26 in the Plepa area, at the southern entrance to Durrës.

According to SPAK, the arrest followed several weeks of work by specialized units of the State Police and the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH). Agasi was traveling with Uljan Shpataraku, a former police officer, who was arrested on suspicion of aiding a crime suspect.

SPAK said Agasi has been under investigation since December 2025 in a criminal proceeding involving allegations including illegal competition through violence, unlawful deprivation of liberty, manipulation of public tenders, participation in a structured criminal group, and money laundering.

He is also being investigated on allegations of active corruption of public officials, allegedly committed in cooperation and on multiple occasions.

SPAK said a court decision ordering Agasi’s arrest and detention in prison was issued on December 15, 2025, and forwarded to police two days later for execution.

The investigation remains ongoing.
