Over 2400 Ha Flooded in Less than 24 Hours, 32 Families Evacuated

Municipality of Shkodra has compiled Monday a report on the situation within its territory after the heavy rains of the last two days, revealing that the total flooded area is 2405 hectares. 

According to the municipality's report, 32 families have been evacuated, so a total of 139 people have left their homes due to the bad-weather-caused situation. 

Meanwhile, 2 families (7 people) have been accommodated in the dormitory, while the rest will be staying with relatives until the situation improves. 

Furthermore, there is a total of 590 houses with the presence of water in their yards and inside.

From monitoring on the ground today, 21.11.2022, at 10.00, the flood situation on the ground continues to be as follows: 

The hydrometer of Lake Shkodra at 10:00 a.m. marks the quota of 7.58 m. (Max quota of 8.70 m). 

The hydrometer of the Drin river at 10.00, marks the quota of 7.60m. (Max quota 7.50 m).

Total flooded area 2405Ha 

Administrative Unit. Mountain side 

The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 1000 Ha, mainly in the villages of Obot, Muriqan, Oblikë 
Obot Street – The water level above the road reaches about 70 cm. 
As a result of the floods, Oblika 1 water supply is out of order 
Administrative Unit Dajç 

1. The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 140 Ha, mainly in the villages of Mushan, Shirq, Pentar. 

The road that connects the villages of Pentar- Ças has the presence of water. 
Buna has deported to Urrelat e Shirqi 
Administrative Unit Velipoja 

The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 165 Ha. mainly the villages of Baks, Luarz. Chas.

Administrative Unit Bërdica 

The area of ??flooded agricultural land is estimated at 600 Ha, specifically in the villages of Trush, Berdicë e Siperme, Berdice e Mesme, Beltoje. 

Evacuated families: 

There are 32 evacuated families, a total of 139 people, mainly from the Administrative Units: 

A. Administrative Guri I Zi, 15 families (57 people) 

A. Administrative Bërdica, 12 families (50 people) 

Neighborhood No. 4, 3 families (7 people) 

Ward no. 1, 2 families (7 people)
