Over 70 Kg Marijuana Coming from Albania Seized in Greece

The Greek police have announced that they have captured a load of marijuana that was being passed from Albania to the Hellenic state.

The operation took place at noon on Saturday on the street "Egnatia" near the place called "Dodoni" at the entrance to Ioannina. Inside the vehicle, it is said that 64 packages with 70 kg and 400 grams of marijuana were found and seized.

The Greek police clarify that the driver of the vehicle has been arrested, for whom the Greek police still do not disclose the nationality and age.

The operation was developed after information provided by the Patras anti-drug unit about the movement of a large amount of drugs from the green border of Albania to Greece, while the investigations will be carried out by the Prosecutor's Office of Ioannina.

The Greek police informs that the price of marijuana in Greece has increased and now ranges from 2000-3000 euros/kg. Since the beginning of the year, the Greek police have seized over 1.2 tons of marijuana, which is suspected to have come from Albania.
