Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Cairo, Egypt, on an official visit. He visited the mosque and tomb of Muhammad Ali, the Albanian who is admired as the father of the modern Egyptian state.

During the visit he was accompanied by the government cabinet and his counterpart Moustafa Madbouly.

"It is known as the fortress of Muhammad Ali. He was Albanian and we consider him the founder of the new Egypt. The mosque was built in memory of Osman Pasha, his son. The mosque is in the same style as the Ottoman mosques. The architect of this mosque is from Istanbul. This construction is an exchange of influences from Turkey in Ottoman times. The mosque is a reference point of Cairo," said the Egyptian prime minister.
