Poland Sends Ten German-Made Tanks to Ukraine

Poland will send 10 German-made Leopoard 2 tanks to Ukraine this week, announced the Polish Minister of Defense.

"Four tanks are already in Ukraine and 10 more will be sent this week," Mariusz Blaszczak said during a press conference. In total, Poland has promised to send Ukraine 14 Leopard 2 tanks.

Blaszczak made these comments before the meeting of defense ministers of the European Union, which is being held in Stockholm regarding security in Europe and support for Ukraine.

"We are also expected to discuss with Boris Pistrius, the German Minister of Defense. The main issue we will talk about is the low stocks of spare parts for Leopard tanks," said Blaszczak.

This problem can be solved first by the German arms industry, and Poland is ready to produce such parts, he added.

"We have already initiated a service center in Poland, which will deal with the repair of Leopard tanks that are sent to Ukraine," said Blaszczak.

In addition to Poland, Germany and other European countries have promised Ukraine Leopard 2 tanks. Meanwhile, the United States has pledged to send powerful Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
