Police Cracks Down on Illegal Exploit of Beach in Saranda
While vacationers this year are facing unaffordable prices on the coast, (mainly in the south of the country), it seems that the owners, in addition to the prices, have found ways to abuse the state as well. Such a case was cracked down this Tuesday in Saranda in an area that can be described as the jewel of Saranda, the "Dry Tree".
On this beach, umbrellas were sold abusively by the owners for up to ALL 5000, and as if the high prices were not enough, they exercised their activity illegally and without a license, not paying the obligations to the state. This seems to make them the "God" of the beach in "Dry Tree", but Saranda's police managed to liberate the area by seizing 489 umbrellas and sunbeds with an action during the day.
The Saranda Police announces that criminal proceedings have been taken against the administrator and the owner of the subject, who had occupied the public space with sunbeds and umbrellas, placed without the relevant permit, and did not issue a tax coupon for the service provided.
"In the framework of the operational plan for the control of the coastline and the release of illegally occupied coastal areas, by various entities that set up umbrellas and sunbeds, by the specialists for the investigation of crimes at the Saranda Police Station, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office and started criminal proceedings for citizens:
- Ms. I., 58 years old (owner of the subject), for the criminal offenses "Occupation of land" and "Concealment of income";
- K. I., 38 years old (administrator of the subject), for the criminal offense "Land occupation"," announced the Police among others.
