Police Document that Rejected DP's Request for Protest Disclosed
The document of the State Police, addressed to the Democratic Party, which rejected the request of this party to hold a protest on December 6 before the Prime Minister's Office, is unveiled.
On this date, the EU-Western Balkans summit is held in Tirana, where European leaders participate. The director of the Tirana Police, Lorenc Panganika, addressed to the DP representative, Ervin Minarolli, argued the reasons for not accepting this party's request to hold the rally on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from 12:00 to 16:00.
According to the police, the gathering in question in the security perimeter established within the measures for the smooth running of the order due to the summit, would harm the national security. Among other things, the police suggest the DP to hold the rally in another alternative place, outside this security perimeter. We recall that the DP's letter to obtain permission from the police to continue with the protest was made on November 22.
The security perimeter announced by the police:
"Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard to "Bajram Curri" boulevard, including "Mother Teresa" square.
"Gjergj Filipi" street from the intersection with "Ibrahim Rrugova" street to the intersection with "Papa John Paul II" street.
"Lek Dukagjini" road in its entire length.
"Dervish Hima" street, "Sheh Ahmet Pazar" street, "Faik Konica" street, "Skerdilajd Llagar" street.
"Papa Gjon Pali II" street along its entire length, Asim Zeneli street, "Themistokli Germenji" street, "Mustafa Matohiti" street, "Jul Variboba" street, Fatmir Haxhiu street.
"Ismail Qemali" street, from "Elbasani" street to the intersection with "Ibrahim Rrugova" street.
