Saranda police have announced that the 74-year-old Polish citizen has been found and is in good health.
According to the escort of the Polish tourist group, the 29-year-old with the initials D.R, the elderly Zbibniw Kaczorowski, 74, was wearing a pair of swimming boots and at around 10.30 on Monday morning he was thrown into the sea in Ksamil, saying: " "I will go for a coffee in Corfu."
The action took place around 10.30 on Monday morning and the report to the police was made at 20.00 when it was found that the elderly man was not returning. Immediately the two police stations of Saranda were alerted and started the search by sea and land. After several hours of searching, 74-year-old Polish Zbibniw Kaczorowski was found alone on the beach opposite Tongo Island, or as the locals call it here, "French Island". He was found sitting on the sand and exhausted.
Apparently the "sea pilot" had lost the way, doing about 7.5 nautical miles by swimming and remaining again on Albanian soil, so a few miles more than the sea distance Ksamil - Corfu, and could not drink that adventure coffee. Thanks to the help given to him by the Saranda police forces, he is alive and well today.
