Porto Romano Road Exit Eases Traffic in Durres

The road infrastructural work that will connect the port of Porto Romano with the exit of Shkozet in the Durres Region is taking shape.

Prime Minister Edi Rama brought images of lot 3 of the Porto Romano-Durres road, a work that will connect the Porto Romano area with the Tirana-Durres segment, at the exit of Shkozet, avoiding traffic within the city of Durres.

Works on lot 3 of the Porto Romano-Durrës road segment have advanced significantly and are nearing completion. Asphalt layers and vertical and horizontal signage in about 6 km have been completed, the construction of three bridges has been completed, and road lighting works have been completed. Meanwhile, work is being done on the last segment of about 1.2 km with the stabilizer layer and traffic dividers.

Porto Romano will become Albania's largest seaport, providing a world-class cargo facility for the region's businesses and extending economic benefits throughout Southeast Europe.

The new port in Durres in Porto Romano, integrated with the Durres-Prishtina railway project, the dry port in Pristina, and the dry port in Struga, in addition to increasing cooperation between countries, is expected to turn Durres into one of the strategic gateways of the economy the Mediterranean.
