President Awards 'Honour of Nation' to Albanian Dancer
President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, awarded the high title "Honour of the Nation" to the Albanian dancer Agron Aliaj, after his death.
Meta says that for decades his skill has been distinguished in every part of the national and foreign works that have been staged and applauded by the Albanian public.
"Part of a golden constellation of artists, who founded the Albanian ballet troupe with passion and sacrifice, stage master Agron Aliaj entered the history of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, not only as the first pioneer of the national ballet, but also as the figure of artistic rareness that he created and that would remain a model for later choreographers.
For decades, his talent would stand out in every piece of national and foreign works that were staged and applauded by Albanian art lovers.
With gratitude for the rare talent and the extraordinary contribution made to the formation and education of new generations of artists, who today interpret his creations and are proud of the wonderful works he has left as a legacy for Albanian art and culture, I awarded the unforgettable Agron Aliaj, the high title "Honour of the Nation", writes the president.
