The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, has decreed Taulant Balla as Minister of the Interior. 

“Taulant Balla is appointed Minister of the Interior. This decree enters into force immediately", it is written in the document signed by President Begaj. 

 Taulant Balla was proposed by Prime Minister Edi Rama after the dismissal of Bledi Çuçi. 

Prime Minister Rama's proposal to appoint Taulant Balla to the position of Minister of the Interior arrived at the Presidency around 2:00 PM on Monday (July 10). 

Bledi Çuçi was dismissed from his post after the scandal involving the family members of the Socialist Party MP, Rrahman Rraja, who has resigned from his mandate after it became public in the media that his son, Rexhepi, and his two brothers, Flamur and Xelal Rraja, brutally assaulted two members of the Maja family. 

The two Maja members were hit with baseball bats, punched and kicked in a bar. One of them even remained unconscious on the floor of the bar, while Flamur Rraja pointed a gun at him and Rexhep Rraja hit him with a baseball bat.
