President Begaj Welcomes Greek PM Mitsotakis, Issues Discussed
The Albanian President, Bajram Begaj welcomed in a meeting Tuesday the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with whom discussed the excellent relationships between the two countries and the support of Greece on Albania's EU path.
According to the Presidency, the two personalities also discussed the situation of Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian community in Greece, considering both a strong bridge on the two countries relationships.
"The relations between Albania and Greece have improved a lot, in every aspect. I underlined to Prime Minister Mitsotakis that all open issues, whether old or new, will be treated with the utmost seriousness, according to the norms of good neighborliness and the principle of reciprocity, in respect of the Constitution, the decision of the Constitutional Court and international law, as two strategic allies in NATO.
I also talked with Prime Minister Mitsotakis about the possibility of increased investments of Greek capital in various areas of the Albanian economy," said Begaj.
He also appreciated the new spirit of cooperation of the Government and the Greek authorities with Kosovo and underlined that Kosovo is a political reality and the recognition of its independence would serve to further strengthen peace and security in the Western Balkans region.
