President Expresses Condolences for Death of Prominent Pedagogue

The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has expressed his condolences for the death of the intellectual and pedagogue Agim Sinoimeri. Through a social media post, the Head of State says this is sad news for anyone who has known him personally. 

The Head of State praises Sinoimer as a man who radiated kindness and optimism. 

"The news of the premature separation from the life of Agim Sinoimer is still unbelievable for me, but I am convinced it is even for many others, who were lucky enough to know him closely and share friendship with him. He always radiated kindness and optimism with his devotion and love. 

Saying my last goodbyes, yesterday I expressed my sincere condolences to his wonderful wife Ardjana and two sons Toni and Gjergji, for this irreplaceable loss not only for his family. May he rest in peace", writes President Meta. 

The life of Agim Sinoimer 

Agim Sinoimeri was born in Paris in 1954. Both his parents were diplomats and this helped him to learn several foreign languages ​​from an early age. In his youth he also played as an athlete with Partizan, in the basketball team. 

The Albanian intellectual graduated from the University of History-Geography in 1978… and immediately afterwards worked as a teacher in Puka. After a short period in this experience, Sinoimeri returned to Tirana as deputy director of the National Museum, in the 1980s. 

After the 1990s, Agim Sinoimeri held several positions in the People's Assembly, one of them as a councillor, and later in the 2000s he was elected chairman of the National Tourism Committee. This post would close the journey of the Albanian intellectual in the "state". 

After these years Agim Sinoimeri dedicated himself to the private sector, in the field of consulting. 

For years he lived and was resident in America. He was married and had two sons. Agim Sinoimer's wife works in the United States Department.
