President Bajram Begaj participated in the reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Albanian Muslim Community. 

During his speech, the president mentioned the persecution of Muslim clerics by communism for practicing their faith, a fundamental right denied by the dictatorial regime.

Furthermore, Begaj added that he is confident that Muslim clerics but also those of other faiths will work together "to inspire Albanians to engage together, regardless of religious belief, for the progress and prosperity of the country, for the well-being of the home our common, Albania."
