A Republican Guard employee has been arrested this Monday after being caught transporting 5 illegal immigrants by car. 

Police say that the framework of the operation codenamed "Perimeter" has hit two cases of this criminal activity. In the first case, he was an employee of the Guard, who in cooperation with another person was caught transporting 5 illegal immigrants. 

While the second case was ascertained in the axis Korçë-Ersekë, where the van-type vehicle "Iveco", whose driver, the police officers signaled to stop, but he did not obey their order and left quickly, abandoned the vehicle near the village of Drenovë, Korçë. During the control exercised on the vehicle, 40 illegal immigrants were found who in return for the reward were promised to move to EU countries.

"There are 2 other cases of criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing, against profit. Korça Police, in cooperation with the SHCBA, arrested in flagrante delicto 2 citizens, one of whom is an employee of the Republic Guard, who were caught transporting 5 illegal immigrants. Another citizen was declared wanted, who was transporting 40 illegal immigrants and did not obey the order of the police officers to stop," announced the Police.
