Serbia Will Never Support Kosovo's UN Membership; Vucic

The President of Serbia, Aleksander Vucic, has stated that they will never support Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. He spoke at a media conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Tobias Billström, the latter emphasized that they expect the implementation of all the provisions of the agreement and its annex, between Kosovo and Serbia. 

According to the Swedish diplomat, it will now be important for Serbia to align itself with the EU and implement its reform agenda. 

"Now it will be important for Serbia to fully align with the EU regarding Russia and implement its reform agenda. As for the normalization dialogue, we expect that all the provisions of the agreement and the annex will be implemented immediately", said Billström. 

While according to Vucic, Kosovo should form the association and then Serbia will fulfil its part of the work. 

He added that Serbia's position is that it will not support Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. 

"Serbia will not support Kosovo's membership in the United Nations and the specialized agencies and institutions of the United Nations, for this I have clearly informed all those who participate in the negotiations, including the other side," he said.
