A 32-year-old woman is accused of killing her 7-day-old baby by throwing him into the Kir river in Shkoder. Police said they received information that on the evening of Friday, January 6, a citizen allegedly abandoned her baby boy, born on December 30, 2022, and may have thrown him into the Kir River. 

"The 32-year-old woman threw her baby into the river Kir, and is put in handcuffs for murder. 

The Investigative Structures of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, based on information intelligence, that yesterday evening, a citizen allegedly abandoned her male baby, born on December 30, 2022, and could have thrown him into the Kir River, have organized the work for the verification of this received information. 

As a result of the checks carried out by the Police services, during yesterday evening and the early hours of this morning, in the place called Postribe, in the river Kir, the body of a baby was found. 

The Police Services have escorted the citizen O. G., 32 years old, resident in the village of Myselim, to the premises of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate. 

At the end of the first investigative actions, carried out in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court, this citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Deliberate murder". 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court for further action," the police said.
