About 120.000 inhabitants of Shkodra have been without drinking water since Monday night due to a defect. 

According to the Municipality, on Monday night there was a serious defect and three panels of the power distribution network at the pumping station in Dobraç were damaged. 

"Due to large voltage fluctuations during the night, the panels were burned, causing significant damage to the pumping station, interrupting the water supply for more than 120 thousand inhabitants in the city of Shkodra. As of 3 a.m., technical teams are working to repair the defect. 

Every week, power supply problems and lack of electricity become the cause of water supply interruptions. The electricity supply is primary, it must be provided regular and stable for the operation of the pumps and the water distribution system in the city ", declares the Municipality of Shkodra. 

Shkodra Water Supply Director Mark Molla stated that they are working with all capacities to return drinking water to the city as soon as possible. According to him, this defect came as a result of voltage fluctuations at the pump station and was unexpected.
