Shkodra Gang Member Released from Prison

Safet Bajri, known as a member of the Shkodra gang, has been released on bail from Fier prison where he was serving the sentence imposed by the Belgian court. 

Albaniandailynews learns that the court of Fier has accepted his request for bail, a request that was made about a month ago. 

The Belgian court sentenced Bajri to a total of 9 years in prison for drug trafficking and exploitation of prostitution. Bajri was put in handcuffs in 2018, not only in connection with his sentence in Belgium, but he was also accused of blackmail, drug trafficking and fines, activities that were carried out in Albania. 

At the time when Bajri was arrested, it was officially said that: "State Police officers, in cooperation with contact officers of the countries involved in the operation, have carried out actions on the ground to identify, locate and arrest citizens who are members of the group, who were operating abroad Albania, and mainly in the Netherlands. The charges against the members of this criminal group are: 

"Intentional murder remaining in the attempt", in collaboration, "Intentional murder", carried out in collaboration, "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons and ammunition", "Organization of unauthorized lotteries", "Cleaning of products of criminal offense" committed in cooperation, "Extortion by means of threats or violence to give property", committed in cooperation, "Supporting the author of the crime", "Crime avoidance", "Production and sale of narcotics", criminal offense these committed within the framework of the structured criminal group."
