SPAK Closes Investigations on Corruption Scheme with Public Tenders
The Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) closed Wednesday investigations over a corruption scheme and sent to trial 20 people.
Those are Evis Berberik, of violation of equality in tenders, Valter Begaj for active corruption, Ervis Lami, Brunilda Buli, Gentian Gjyli, Erald Elezi, Genti Raça, Artan Leskoviku, Altin Marko, Orjon Islamaj, Adrian Kroi, Bledar Aliaj, Blerta Musabelli, Kamelia Tafaj, Adela Kica, Denis Xhoxhi, Adja Strazimiri, Gëzim Noni, Ela Goxhaj, Jetmira Dervishi, Valbona Pepa, mainly for active corruption and violation of equality in tenders, and companies “Net Group”sh.p.k and “DAAM”sh.p.k.
The investigation proved the abuse in seven procurement procedures, conducted in the years 2020-2022, at the Energy Efficiency Agency and the Albanian Road Authority, during the time when the head of the contracting authority was the defendant Evis Berberi, in the function of General Director for Energy Efficiency and General Director of the Albanian Road Authority.
