TIA Introduces New Rules to Enter Albania Starting September 6

Tirana International Airport (TIA) has introduced this Tuesday new travelling rules for those entering Albania, starting from September 6. 

Citizens entering Albania must meet one of three conditions: Have a vaccination passport which has been obtained for at least 2 weeks before travelling; Have a negative PCR test within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test within 48 hours; Have proof of passing Sars-Cov2 infection, valid up to 6 months after healing. 

Children under 6 years of age are excluded from these rules, meanwhile, Albanian citizens residing in Albania, who lack one of these documents, must undergo a 10-day quarantine.

For the attention of passengers flying to Tirana International Airport. Starting from September 6, citizens entering the Republic of Albania must meet one of the following three conditions: 

1. Have a vaccination passport, where from the date of full vaccination have at least two weeks. 
2. Have a negative PCR test within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test within 48 hours. 
3. Have proof of passing Sars-Cov2 infection, valid up to 6 months after healing. 

These rules are valid even for those citizens who transit through Albania. Children up to 6 years old are not subject to these rules. Albanian citizens residing in Albania, who return and do not have one of the above documents, must self-isolate themselves for 10 days and inform the health authority to perform a test at the end of the isolation period. 

Only travelling passengers will be allowed to enter the airport building, avoiding being escorted by their family members. These passengers must strictly observe the wearing of the mask, as recommended in the protocol of health safety measures.
